ABOUT ALICE

Growing up, I always had a special affinity for animals. I was the kid who would find dogs wandering the neighborhood and make sure they found their way home. At just five years old, I made the connection between sentient beings and what was on my plate. I recall watching a wildlife exploration program with graphic imagery and suddenly realizing that all animals deserved the compassion, love, and respect that I gave my dog, Lassie (yes, named after that Lassie). Though I was too young to know about the behind-the-scenes horror of factory farming, I knew that no being deserved to lose their life for the pleasure of another.
I made the leap into veganism in 2010 and never looked back. Going vegan was the best decision of my life and I feel good knowing that I positively contribute to Mother Earth, the reduction of animal suffering, and my own health, each and every day.
In 2016, I joined the Mercy For Animals staff where I worked for three years alongside the most incredible humans who shared the joint mission of ending factory farming and promoting compassionate lifestyles.
In addition to animal rights, I spend my time eating, working off the eating, and then eating some more. I greatly enjoy discovering new vegan eateries and products, perusing farmers markets and local co-ops for in-season and rare produce, and all things culinary wizardry. I obtained my 200-HR Power Yoga Certification from CorePower Yoga in Berkeley and later taught at various studios and fitness centers in Norway. In 2019 I launched the Alice in Veganland retreat series and became a certified health coach.
Thank you for exploring Veganland with me!
